Wollastonite selection calls for a clear link between mineral composition, powder form and the intended material test. This acicular, needle-shaped powder has actual 800mesh and 1250mesh choices for ceramics, paint, rubber and plastics enquiries.
Read the oxide limits before comparing samples
The stated Fe2O3 content is no more than 1.2%, while SiO2 is 48%-51%. Keep these limits with the current oxide analysis when assessing the proposed grade against your material requirements.
Whiteness is stated at a minimum of 92%. Request the measurement procedure and reference conditions so that a sample result can be compared meaningfully with the required optical target.
Distinguish mesh from needle geometry
The two model labels identify mesh choices, but do not give an aspect ratio or a complete particle distribution. If needle dimensions matter to the formulation, ask for measured morphology rather than treating the word acicular as a numerical specification.
Request the particle-size method for the selected mesh label as well. An assumed conversion to a single micron value would leave important parts of the distribution unexamined.
Test wollastonite in the material that matters
A ceramics enquiry should define the relevant formulation and firing assessment, while a paint enquiry should establish the required finish measurements. Rubber and plastics evaluations need their own processing and finished-material criteria.
Provide those criteria with the preferred model when requesting a technical review. Current chemical, optical and particle documents can guide a sample evaluation, but they do not replace evidence for the actual application or establish guaranteed reinforcement.
