Calcium Carbonate for PVC Calendered Film
If calcium carbonate is being considered for PVC calendered film, begin with film thickness and the defects your line must avoid.
Relia's powder candidates can be compared for distribution, coarse residue, treatment and moisture.

A Factory Proposal for Your Application
Relia manufactures ground, precipitated and selected surface-coated calcium carbonate grades in China through its own factories.
Our carbonate grade discussion should start with your PVC film and calendering conditions. Tell Relia the thickness, current formulation and the limits for specks, surface or mechanical properties. That gives the proposed powder specification a clear purpose and keeps the selection separate from a carrier-based masterbatch enquiry.

The Correct Purchasing Form
The 101 precipitated-designated grade offers a film-focused starting point; the coated GCC and 40nm-designated entries offer different particle and surface routes. We keep the film's visual requirements beside processing and mechanical limits. The smallest particle name is not automatically the cleanest dispersed film.

Filler Identity for Calendered PVC Film
| Review area | Listed data and acceptance basis | Use in your selection |
|---|---|---|
| 101 · 6530 | The entry explicitly includes PVC calendering film. Obtain the offered particle distribution, moisture and treatment data. | Use the same particle measurement basis, then review dispersion and the result in your process. |
| Activated GCC · 6499 | The range covers 600–3000 mesh. Choose a specific grade and confirm coarse-particle control rather than convert the whole range to microns. | Use the same particle measurement basis, then review dispersion and the result in your process. |
| 40nm powder · 6527 | Confirm primary-particle meaning, agglomerate distribution and dispersion conditions before using the designation in a film brief. | Use the same particle measurement basis, then review dispersion and the result in your process. |
| Film acceptance | Compare specks, thickness consistency, optical requirements and mechanical properties at a stated filler loading. | Use this item to define the candidate and the evidence needed for your application. |
Relevant Grades for Your Shortlist

Film under Comparable Conditions
Run comparisons at the intended film thickness and formulation, with the calendering conditions recorded. Inspect a defined film area for visible defects as well as the required mechanical results. A coarse tail or persistent agglomerates can matter even when the headline particle designation appears very small.

Particle Preparation and Surface Condition
A classifier cut and a residue measurement describe different aspects of the coarse fraction. Surface treatment and powder agglomeration then affect how that fraction enters the compound. For a thin film, connect the proposed distribution and residue limits with actual film inspection; a mesh designation alone cannot describe the defect risk.
GCC: dry and wet routes
Relia uses both dry- and wet-grinding routes for GCC. Grinding and classification are connected to the selected powder's particle specification.
PCC: crystal formation
Relia produces PCC through calcination, slaking and carbonation. The precipitation route forms new particles rather than only grinding the starting mineral.
Selected surface-coated grades
Relia applies surface coating to selected carbonate grades. The actual treatment and intended application remain part of the grade discussion.
Defined carbonate checks
Routine batch checks cover whiteness, moisture and purity. Particle size and oil absorption are checked according to the grade or order requirements.
- Distribution
- Retain average size, D50 and D97 as their actual reported measurements.
- Surface
- Connect a treatment declaration with the application and absorption or wetting evidence.
- Identity
- Keep the selected grade and relevant method with the sample comparison.
A Defined Film Acceptance
An approved candidate should be tied to the tested film conditions and the powder specification. We carry those identifiers into the supply discussion. A different treatment or distribution needs review before it becomes a routine replacement.

Choose the Next Useful Guide
If you compound filler masterbatch, you are buying mineral feedstock for a carrier system, not simply the cheapest white powder.
If you buy filler masterbatch for PE packaging film, the carrier pellet and the resulting film need their own approval.
If a promising sample needs to become a repeat purchase, make the approval record as clear as the trial result.
