Low-Oil-Demand Calcium Carbonate for Adhesives
If you want a higher filler loading in an adhesive without losing workable viscosity or bond performance, compare the whole formulation.
Relia's carbonate candidates provide starting grades for reviewing oil demand, wetting and particle behaviour.

A Factory Proposal for Your Application
Relia manufactures ground, precipitated and selected surface-coated calcium carbonate grades in China through its own factories.
We can review your adhesive filler enquiry around a defined binder and loading target. Give us the current mineral, viscosity window and bond or application limits. The discussion can then distinguish catalogue oil-absorption data from the evidence produced in your own adhesive, instead of treating one powder test as a formulation guarantee.

A Useful Loading Target
Adhesive selection starts with the binder, application and required bead behaviour. The 602-6 powder carries a 90±10nm designation, coated GCC offers a different surface route, and 701 includes an explicit DOP absorption limit. We use those differences to design a useful shortlist rather than call all three equivalent sealant fillers.

Three Filler Routes for Adhesive Rheology
| Review area | Listed data and acceptance basis | Use in your selection |
|---|---|---|
| 602-6 · 6543 | The listing names adhesive and silicone-sealant assessment with 90±10nm. Confirm the particle method and offered treatment. | Use the same particle measurement basis, then review dispersion and the result in your process. |
| Coated GCC · 6499 | The entry states at least 98.5% CaCO3 with 600–3000 mesh options. Specify the actual grade and surface treatment. | Use the same particle measurement basis, then review dispersion and the result in your process. |
| 701 · 6544 | DOP oil absorption is listed no more than 22ml/100g. It is a DOP measurement, not an adhesive-viscosity guarantee. | Use this item to define the candidate and the evidence needed for your application. |
| Adhesive system | Define viscosity at a stated temperature and shear condition, application behaviour, cure and bond acceptance. | Use your required finished-product result as the acceptance point for the candidate. |
Relevant Grades for Your Shortlist
Use these listed candidates to start a grade-specific discussion with us.
The Complete Adhesive
Compare the candidates inside your actual binder and mixing sequence. Evaluate wetting, dispensing or sag behaviour together with cure and the relevant adhesion test. A formulation that extrudes easily may still miss the cured-performance requirement, so both stages belong in the approval record.

Low absorption
Does not guarantee low formulation viscosity.
Cost
Assess an acceptable finished adhesive.
Treatment
Confirm the proposed grade.
Particle Preparation and Surface Condition
Particle distribution, shape and surface condition influence the surface that the binder must wet. Classification and any treatment stage therefore belong in the grade comparison. Keep the oil-absorption method with its original unit, then measure the complete adhesive under a fixed mixing sequence and conditioning period before accepting a higher mineral loading.
GCC: dry and wet routes
Relia uses both dry- and wet-grinding routes for GCC. Grinding and classification are connected to the selected powder's particle specification.
PCC: crystal formation
Relia produces PCC through calcination, slaking and carbonation. The precipitation route forms new particles rather than only grinding the starting mineral.
Selected surface-coated grades
Relia applies surface coating to selected carbonate grades. The actual treatment and intended application remain part of the grade discussion.
Defined carbonate checks
Routine batch checks cover whiteness, moisture and purity. Particle size and oil absorption are checked according to the grade or order requirements.
- Distribution
- Retain average size, D50 and D97 as their actual reported measurements.
- Surface
- Connect a treatment declaration with the application and absorption or wetting evidence.
- Identity
- Keep the selected grade and relevant method with the sample comparison.
A Specification from the Trial
The approved candidate needs an identity, treatment and test basis that your team can recognise on repeat orders. We discuss supply from that record. A formulation or treatment change can then be assessed against the same practical target.

Choose the Next Useful Guide
If you formulate silicone sealant, filler choice needs to balance sag resistance, extrusion and cure behaviour.
If a high-solids coating becomes too viscous as filler loading rises, compare wetting and particle behaviour in the complete binder system.
If a promising sample needs to become a repeat purchase, make the approval record as clear as the trial result.
