Titanium Dioxide Grade Selection for White Plastics
If you source TiO2 for white plastics, choose against the resin, processing temperature and finished-colour requirements.
Relia's listed grades can be compared for pigment identity, treatment and dispersion.

A Factory Proposal for Your Application
Relia manufactures titanium dioxide materials for grade-specific industrial applications in China through its own factories.
We can review your white-plastics pigment enquiry around the actual resin and application. Give us the reference colour, process conditions and critical limits for opacity or visible dispersion. The grade proposal should identify the pigment and treatment declaration before your team compares moulded or extruded specimens.

The Resin and Colour Target
XM-T288 and the 95%-designated rutile entry offer different rutile starting points; XM-A111 is an anatase entry. We keep crystal form, offered treatment and the polymer process explicit. The catalogue's white-powder appearance cannot establish the finished plastic's colour, opacity or outdoor durability.

Rutile and Anatase Proposals for White Plastics
| Review area | Listed data and acceptance basis | Use in your selection |
|---|---|---|
| XM-T288 · 5956 | A rutile TiO2 entry with 94% purity stated. Request the actual treatment and resin-relevant grade data. | Keep chemical identity, assay basis and the actual offered grade in the same specification. |
| Rutile · 5953 | The title carries a 95% purity designation. Confirm its unit, assay basis and full offered specification. | Keep chemical identity, assay basis and the actual offered grade in the same specification. |
| XM-A111 · 5820 | An anatase listing with 96–98.5% TiO2. Do not convert an anatase proposal into a rutile grade by description. | Use this item to define the candidate and the evidence needed for your application. |
| Plastic acceptance | Set resin, processing temperature, loading, colour reference, opacity and relevant exposure or durability requirements. | Match the stated measurement method and compare the appearance in your finished material. |
Relevant Grades for Your Shortlist
Use these listed candidates to start a grade-specific discussion with us.
A Resin-Based Comparison
Mould or extrude samples in the intended polymer with comparable pigment loading and processing history. Compare finished colour, opacity, dispersion and the relevant functional results. Outdoor or weathering acceptance needs the appropriate exposure evidence for that system; crystal-form naming alone does not supply it.

Cross-use approval
Coatings and plastics need their own evidence.
Powder colour
Does not decide moulded colour.
Changed resin
Can change the pigment response.
Base Pigment and Surface Finishing
TiO2 finishing can include surface treatments that change its interaction with a polymer system. The treated powder then passes through your dispersion, compounding and forming stages. Keep the declared grade information with the resin and processing conditions, and measure the finished plastic; a paint-oriented pigment description is not a polymer qualification.
Identify the base pigment
Industrial TiO2 can be produced through sulfate or chloride routes; crystal designation needs its own grade evidence.
Refine and form the pigment
Purification and particle formation affect the base material before application-oriented finishing.
Declare the surface package
The actual inorganic or organic treatment is a grade-specific detail that a model code does not establish.
Connect the pigment to use
Retain the offered composition, particle and treatment data with the coating or plastic trial.
- Crystal and assay
- Composition and crystal designation describe different characteristics.
- Treatment
- Request the treatment declaration relevant to the offered grade.
- Performance
- Use finished-film or finished-plastic evidence under the actual application conditions.
A Colour Reference for Supply
Retain the accepted plaque or part with the proposed pigment specification. We discuss repeat supply against that reference. A new resin, treatment or processing window deserves a relevant comparison.

Choose the Next Useful Guide
If you are sourcing TiO2 for an exterior white coating, rutile content or a bright powder is only part of the decision.
If you make PP mouldings, a stiffer part is useful only if impact, shrinkage and warpage remain acceptable.
If you buy filler masterbatch for PE packaging film, the carrier pellet and the resulting film need their own approval.
